We are hungry for God's presence. Our Vision, as a Church, is to grow together as a place where God's presence is welcomed, pursued, enjoyed and given away.
We want to prioritise the Holy Spirit amongst us, by creating more space for Him to move & change lives. So... every 2 months we are going to be gathering on a Wednesday evening, to do exactly this - to practise His presence, (and to collectively learn, how we can host, follow and love the Holy Spirit), through worship, prayer & lots of joy. The next Practising His Presence will be on Wednesday 29th of January - from 7.30-9pm at the Church Offices at Cumbria CVS, Shaddongate, Carlisle, CA2 5TY (see Contact for a map). We are really pleased to be running The Marriage Course this term. Produced by HTB - the home of the Alpha Course - The Marriage Course is designed to help couples invest in their relationship and build a strong marriage. Some couples do the course to intentionally invest in their relationship, others are looking to address more specific challenges. Either way, the course offers essential tools and practical ideas to help build a relationship that lasts a lifetime.
The virtual course at Revive City will start on the 27th of October and run for eight weeks (with a break on the fifth week) before finishing on the 15th of December 2020. Leon and Chrysti will be hosting the evenings, having gone through the course this summer to encourage their marriage to go from 'good to even better' and to continue on good paths into the future. Feel free to get in touch with Leon or Chrysti if you have any questions or sign up below: Coming soon: Churches that Change Communities 2020 Saturday, 7 November is the date for the Jubilee+ annual Churches that Change Communities (CTCC) conference this year.
So how will CTCC2020 work? Jubilee+ will be streaming the conference live from The Message Trust venue in the morning, with worship, prophetic contributions and keynote messages from Martin Charlesworth (Jubilee+) and Rachel Gardner (Youthscape). This time will be hosted by Martin Charlesworth and Sam Ward (Message Trust). There will be 17 pre-recorded seminars on topics as varied as 'Living prophetically after COVID-19', 'Empowering vulnerable people', 'The challenge of rising debt' and many more. And the really great news is - you don't have to choose! Those registered will be able to listen to any number of these seminars during the month of November, before they are made more widely available on our website. Who should book in? If you've read this far - you should! The event is designed to encourage and equip you if you are already working on the front line of social action and if you have a heart to see your church serving the most disadvantaged in our communities. Whether you are already making a difference and need a fresh jolt of inspiration and encouragement, or are just looking in thinking 'There is so much need, where do I start?', this conference is for you. So let's take action. Book now, to be inspired by what God is doing and empowered to play your part. Catch up with Devoted online now on our Vimeo page or on the Devoted youtube: |
