who are we?
We are a multi-ethnic, all-age group of people, who come from various walks of life, who have discovered something awesome… Jesus is alive!! This changes everything, it gives us purpose, meaning and a whole truckload of joy. As Christians, we are now part of Jesus’ Church, which is His family, the place where He dwells on planet earth!
We feel this is such good news! It’s too good to keep to ourselves, and although not much in life is free, this is such good news that it is worth giving away. We want to introduce Jesus to our city, the North of the UK & beyond! We are part of ChristCentral and the wider newfrontiers family of churches. We are also members of the Evangelical Alliance and hold to the Statement of Faith. |

where are we going?

where are we going? Our vision is to gather, go and grow:
Gather - to encounter Jesus and be family We have a passion to gather together, building a Jesus-encountering, Spirit-led, grace-filled, Jesus-centred community, where people can find their home in God’s loving family. Go - doing good and in the works Jesus did We want to develop as a missional people, sent by Jesus, filled with compassion, and empowered by the Spirit - going into our neighbourhoods, the North and the nations, and transforming lives through Jesus. Grow - as Jesus worshippers and as a house of prayer We have a fire in our hearts to grow as contagious, Jesus-loving worshippers, that are impacting our homes, our communities and our city with the love, power and presence of God. |
what's important to us?
We have ten core values at Revive City, rooted in Jesus’ teaching, which help us live out what we believe and become what we were created for:

leadership
leadershipTim leads the leadership team at Revive City. Married to Sam, they have two amazing teenagers.
Originally from Bedford, both Tim and Sam have been serving the Church in Carlisle for over 15 years. As well as overseeing Revive City, Tim is also a part-time landscape gardener. He loves spending time in the Cumbrian countryside. But top of the list for him is hanging out with his two lovely teenagers and his beautiful wife, Sam! |
historyKing’s Church Carlisle (as it was known) has its roots in the coming to Carlisle of Eric and Alison Cairns. Having been part of newfrontiers churches for some years, then completing the newfrontiers’ training in ministry programme, God spoke clearly to both Eric and Alison to move North and plant a church in Carlisle. The start of 2004 saw the coming together of several couples and singles sharing similar vision; a heart to build relationships together and to be a part of a new church in the City that would, in time, reach into the Borders region. In 2019 the church renamed to Revive City Church Carlisle.
As the years have passed the Church has developed and grown with all the joys and pains of life, which has built a strong dependence and strength in God. In early 2019, Harold and Dilys Wilmshurst, responded to a prophetic word from Ginny Burgin, and joined Revive City, spending a year encouraging and strengthening the Church. With new people, families and babies, office space and a new Sunday meeting venue, the story is still being written: the best is yet to come! |
