Coronavirus

7/26/2021

Letter from the Leadership Team:

Hi guys,
As a leadership team we wanted to send out a message, with the latest coronavirus guidance for Churches.  Our Friends at the Baptist Church have helped us with some of the legal information in this letter.

Firstly, we have really appreciated your support and understanding during this difficult and challenging last few months.  Thanks for all the prayers, encouragement, and perseverance.  I have personally been so encouraged by the love, support and trust in God that has been so evident amongst us!!

Under the new guidance there is no longer a requirement to socially distance or wear a face mask in the school building.  Also, happy days!! - congregational singing is now permitted.

As Revive City Church, we have a legal responsibility to implement reasonable measures to lessen the risks of infection from covid-19.   Because the Church is a family, we care for one another and feel the need to put a few things in place to protect the more vulnerable folk amongst us and those visiting us.

The leadership team have put their heads together and created a plan for the next 6 weeks- starting from Sunday 1st August, and to be reviewed the 7th of September:
  1. We will keep a record off attendance for each Sunday, to help with track and Trace, if there were any cases amongst us.
  2. We will be designing the seating arrangements in a way that is suitable and safe, with over a metre gap between rows.  Families will be grouped together, as well as folk in a family’s bubble- they can also sit together.
  3. We will introduce a One-Way system in the building.  Please wear a Face Mask whenever walking around the facility and can we ask you to make your way directly to the seating area please.  Masks are not required for singing or when seated or outside the facility.    Please feel free to congregate outside the front entrance before and after the meeting.
  4. If you would prefer to keep your face mask on for the whole of our time together, please feel completely free to do this.   If you suffer with bad health and feel you need extra protection, please contact Tim Q- 07715883820 or a member of the leadership team.
  5. Although we recognise it is not always easy to keep your children close by, could we ask parents to please keep a close eye on their kids.
  6. For this period, we will not be providing coffees or teas.  Yet please feel free to bring your own for yourselves and your kids.  We will have a small selection of drinks and wrapped biscuits for emergencies and visiting kids.
  7.  Lastly, if you have any Covid symptoms please do not attend church worship on a Sunday morning.  Thank you.

Thanks again for all your support and love, please continue to be patient with each other as we seek to move forwards into the mission and blessing God has got for us.

Prayer Meetings

6/15/2021

Prayer is vital to the life of the church and something we value highly at Revive. We have weekly prayer meetings and also meet to pray at Carlisle Cathedral followed by a coffee at Tullie House. Get in touch if you have any prayer requests or would like to come along to one of our prayer meetings.

Nurtured and Equipped for Ministry - a Paper by Tim Quayle

4/13/2021

The Trinity
All gifts have their origin in the Trinity.  The Father Appointed his son, Jesus Christ, to be head over the Church.  As Lord and leader of the Church he gives gifts to his people, on the basis of Grace, through the working of the Holy Spirit.

Ephesians 4:7:
But grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of Christ's gift.
Ephesians 4:11-13:
And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, 12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.

There are a couple of categories of gifts given to the Church.
1. Foundational ministry gifts (Fivefold ministry gifts- Ephesians 4).
2. Gifts of Grace to each individual (1 Corinthians 12:7-12, Romans 12:3-8).

Foundational ministry gifts:
These ministries are for the whole Church. They have the ability to serve into the local Church context, bringing encouragement and input, but they also are gifts given to the wider Church to build up, strengthen and equip....
